Battambang, a small town not far from the Thai border

We were surprised how flat the landscape is in this part of Cambodia...

We drove to see a temple on a hill and another one of the killing sites of the Khmer Rouge. This is the start of a Buddha's head and is as far as they got before funds ran out...

This is the top of a killing cave

Inside the killing cave...

After a while of driving and getting lost for about two hours we finally found the only vineyard and wine producer in Cambodia...

Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown to
make reds and tropics-resistant Black Queen and Black Opal grapes to make rosés....

We had a taster, from left to right is: ginger and honey- which is used to flavour the brandy, grape juice, brandy- which despite what we had read was OK, and the Shiraz- which tasted like a very bad red wine vinager.....

Piggies off for the slaughter!!!
